1UZ 1978 Toyota Cressida Estate

We had a Cortina on the fleet, that had been a 1.3 basic model, but had been treated to a 1.6 engine ,as a cheap repair, keeping the existing gearbox and diff.

It was like a go kart to drive, accelerated like crazy, but revved way too high in top(4th) gear, making anything above 50-60mph, an uncomfortable experience, and boy, did it like a drink.

To the auctions it went!!

Hopefully, yours will be a better match, but I'd keep a spot ready in your workshop!

Cressida rear end is 3.9 and the ls400 is 3.6 off the top of my head so it shouldn't be too bad. Time will tell.

I need to get some pictures up of my GS300 which is an amazing daily driver.

I don't think I'm going to let it go even when the Cressida is finished as that was the initial plan but I love it so I'll just have to keep both.

Either that or the subject that keeps being batted off by my long suffering wife, the subject of buying a used GSF when it's done a bit more depreciating......

Wheels on and rear lowered to acceptable height however if there is any kind of weight in the car the suspension hits the bump stops.

Two solutions on the cards here, modify the bump stops or go down the air bag rabbit hole, good job I've been eating my carrots.........
