Hi folks,

I have today purchased a Pioneer SBX-B70 Soundbase system and am wondering if I should connect this unit using the supplied optical cable direct to the TV or, would it be better to connect it to a similar connection point on the Sky+HD Box.

Thank you for any help.

I'm not familiar with the equipment you mention.  However, I would connect to the optical output from the tv, at least that's how I connect my HiFi up.

Connecting to the tv should eliminate any potential lip-sync problems.  I'm no expert, but those are my thoughts.

Let us know how you get on.

I have a Yamaha SRT-1000 system, connected directly to the TV optical socket, without issue.

I do have one problem though, my 55" telly is too wide to sit on the base, as, like an increasing number of televisions, it has a foot at each end, rather than the big central pad my previous 42" tv had.

So it now sits on a shelf below the TV, where it seems perfectly happy.
