Service/Warranty plan or not??

Hi Guys,

 

Just looking for some advice on a service plan from Lexus or elsewhere, my local Lexus had done a decent offer for a service plan. They have reduced the full Lexus service to £797, this includes 2 minor and one major. This is the same price as the Lexus Essential service.

Also been offered the 2 year warranty for £895 for my GS450h.

My issue is do I need to service the car at Lexus to keep the warranty in tack? It states at the end 'approved Lexus dealership or service point'. What is a service point?

I guess it can come down to the age of your car. If it's new it may be worth keeping it serviced by Lexus so you can keep the resale value.. if it's older is less of an issue. I choose to keep my 10 year old RX400 service at Lexus because they do a good job and don't mess me about. Peace of mind sometimes it's worth it.

Price up the same service at toyota. My local dealer shares workshops with toyota. Wouldnt hurt to compare

If you get a Lexus approved warranty you do need to service it at a Lexus dealer (either a full dealership or one which has a service only franchise).
