Cheers Paul, has been a bit of learning curve but we seem to be getting there.

Oh and the dealer who sold me the car has stumped up for a good portion of the new exhaust, happy days

Excellent news   Always nice to hear about good dealer experiences.  I can't remember where you bought it from?

Good Motors in Bury, they were a little reluctant and tried ignoring me a bit but came 'good' in the end

Must admit I'm a little concerned about aspects of this thread. I've never ever felt that a Lexua dealer tried to rip me off for servicing or repairs and I'm on my 5th now. Happened plenty of times with other marques but never Lexus. In fact the dealerships always carried out minor repairs foc making the whole ownership experience satisfying. I hope this one is a one-off

I was wary of going to a dealer but with a new (to me) and complex vehicle I figured it was worth the extra cost, especially as they will then warranty the Hybrid components for another 12 months.

I have to admit that the Lexus health check is comforting but I really don't know what they are playing at with the dampers.  I've yet to return for my Hybrid diagnostic/warranty but when I do I will bring up the dampers again and hope to get a consistent answer.

Does anyone know if you can tell how many miles a Hybrid system has covered since the 12v supply was reconnected?  Maybe via the OBD port or some hidden menu on the headunit?  Or is this a Lexus only/Techstream check?

Will have an answer on that one for you tomorrow Lee - give me a nudge if I forget.

Thanks Richard, much appreciated.

You know what, I may just need to familiarise with the mpg screen. It logs in 1 minute slices right, up to 30 mins across the screen. When I come back to the car after a few hours the previous history is still shown. However if I don't drive for a few days, does the slice history clear itself?

Hmmm, this doesn't tally as the slice data was clear when I collected the car after the zoorst work (left for just 6hrs).

The calc'd average and average trip at the bottom of the screen are still retained, until manually reset.

      Morning all,
Wanted to say hi, as just got a GS450h yesterday, 2006 year, but in fairly good nick despite fairly leggy mileage of 144k. It's my first Lexus, so fingers crossed.
Only drive it home, but already like it. Hopefully I'll soon come to love it.

Any how's, off to read the manuals and sure will be back with plenty of questions for you gurus, first likely being the blooming TPMS 'check system' error, that red exclamation and flashing flat tyre symbol already getting on my nerves. But I'll have a search before asking away

      Cheers all, Upex

      Hi,
Soon I'm going to part with my lovely daily Daihatsu.
Family gets bigger and looking into buying next lex.
I have come to a conclusion that it has to be gs.
I'm quite familiar with 2JZ engine but have very little knowledge about 3GR.
Should I go for late 2JZ or an early 3GR?
I'm not into a toys . Reliability and ease of maintenance is the key.
      Good /  bad points ?
      Thanks
      Wild

I was at Lexus Cheltenham today getting my car serviced.
They have a number of brand new cars in stock with around £2,500 off list price including some IS. They have a fully loaded IS F Sport in the showroom  in pearlescent white.
If anyone is looking for a new car for delivery before April it might be worth giving them a ring.

Hi - newie here, recently purchased a lovely GS450h. Trying to fit a Bluetooth adapter kit and having a problem. Looked on forum, but couldn't find solution.
I purchased this unit to play Bluetooth. Although I am not bothered by CD changer (don't have CDs) or SatNav (I use google maps) I also got a Y splitter as well, https://www.amazon.co.uk/gp/product/B01FEXOFL2/ref=oh_aui_detailpage_o00_s00?ie=UTF8&psc=1
I looked at all the install videos, seemed straightforward, I took the unit out, plugged in the adapter and ... nothing. No power to Bluetooth, Sat Nav stopped working, as did most of the audio functions. Using splitter or plugging straight in gave same results
It seemed odd to me that the 6+6 adapter in my unit only had 2 wires, all the install videos I saw had more. Am I missing something?
      any help gratefully appreciated
Before adding adapter, 2 wires only into the 6+6 plug (and after connecting splitter)

      Hi Everyone,
I was looking to get an RX400h for around the £7k to £8k mark, but have just discovered threads about a sinister-sounding inverter failure that seems to be affecting the kind of age I've been looking at (2007-2008)
How common actually are these faults? It's very hard to judge from web forums, as people only tend to post horror stories.
Some of the repair bills quoted just seem berserk - £5k plus in some cases - which is almost as much as the cars are worth.
There are a few warranties available, but I suspect most would not cover hybrid component failure. Lexus' own extended warranty is expensive - annually it works out about the same price as finding a used inverter online and getting it fitted.
What was the forum's thought on this? I'm assuming that there are a few isolated instances of nightmares doing the rounds no matter what car you're interested in, but as I said above, I'm keen to know the feeling about how common pricey disasters are with a 400h
      cheers
      M
