Help Please

Only got to enjoy my 93 sc400 for 3 days - drowe it home approx 200miles no problem - well apart from the fact that I have ran out of fuel...quick top up and everything seemed ok.

On day 2 the car would start as normal but then die out after 5-10sec, it got worse every time I have started it but after reving a bit it was ok car drove as normal.

Now it doesn't start at all...one of the mates suggested changing the fuel pump ecu - that''s done without any result...pump is working, there is spark and air but it doesn't start just cranks and cranks...

I have asked local soarer specialist to investigate - after 5 min he diagnosed it's the crank sensor - sold me the part but wouldn't fit it as he blamed seized bolt... I have spent about 15 minutes on it - sorted no problem at all - unfortunately my wallet is another £100 lighter and the car still doesn't start...where next? Fuel pressure? Fuel filter? ECU?

Thanks in advance

Has the Battery been disconnected while the work was done? Maybe the immobiliser needs to reset. On the GS, you do this by switching ignition on (don't try to start), and leave it for 5 minutes in the on position. Then turn off, and try to start it.

Firstly do you have any Japanese error messages on the digital dash? Run diagnostics and the car will often tell you what's wrong with messages or codes on the dash.

To test if it's the very common fuel ECU fault, with a short piece of wire, simply bridge FP and +B on the diagnostic port in the engine bay, then try to start it.

Other common faults are coil packs and broken HT leads but if you definitely have a spark to both banks then that sounds okay.
