Used Lexus question

Recommended Posts

Hi, I bought a 2014 IS250 from a Lexus dealer last week. Very happy with the car however I'd appreciate some guidance on their responsibility with regards to the condition of the car.

There are several light scratches on the rear wing and two large stone chips on the roof. Should Lexus have put this right prior to sale? Given the 1 month replacement commitment and the fact that it was cold when collecting the car I didn't inspect it thoroughly.

Any info would be appreciated.

yep go back in to your dealership and ask them to put right the paintwork.

you would expect that lexus wouldn't let a car leave the forecourt if it wasn't

in good condition but they are like any other company they're out to make money

and if they dont have to spend then they wont.

i have attached a photo of the Ct i purchased in 2013 from lexus liverpool,i looked at the car

in november afterwork so it was dark outside and i didn't notice the paint damage

and yes they let the car go out with me the following day, they did get it back though to repair.

You shouldn't have an issue getting the bodywork sorted.

They will want your custom for years to come. I've taken cars back to several dealers, Mazda, BMW for example - all put right bodywork issues. With my Lexus I went over it and had the salesman note every minor issue, it was in showroom condition when I collected.

What I have noticed is that Lexus have a habit of sticking cars on their forecourts that aren't exactly up to scratch (excuse the pun).

Good advice from everyone.  Last year I bought my Volvo from a main dealer which meant I paid top price, for that reason I expected everything to be right and put right which it was, including a new spoiler and some paint chips.  I would expect as much, if not more from Lexus.
