New car is300h

Recommended Posts

Hello not new to the the forum used to have a mk1 is200 sport aero. Any way just purchased a is300h f sport from Lexus Swindon. Love the car so fare,  any way I have two questions? One do anyone no the colour code for the rose red leather or where to get a touch up kit.the car has done 92k and has some very small marks on the seats. And also my wipers when in the auto setting sometimes don't work when I operate the washer jets or intermint setting and have to cancel the auto function to clear screen which is dangerous. Is this a common fault. If not I Will be tacking it to my local dealer if not. Thanks for the help.

The wipers don't always work when pushed up or washwipe but only when In The auto mode. As for the seats the car has done 92.000 miles I expect the car to have some age related marks. the dealer did do a good deal  just wondered if anyone new what colour or close match as the seats have one or two very small scuffs. Thanks for helping.

Most likely you'd need to go to a repair specialist to get a colour match.

There is a sensitivity rotating dial thing on the wiper stalk which may help. Try putting sensitivity up and playing with it. Sounds odd that it doesnt wipe when the stalk is pushed up though

Nice car black with red leather is a great combination.

A leather touch up may work it probably doesn't have tobe an exact match if the repair is small.

This is but one example of one option, there are loads more!!

I see your car has the dreaded boomerang on the drivers seat

This used to happen on early cars - can replace the seat under warranty if you visit the dealer about it as its not a normal wear and tear issue.

Will they cover the seat it's out of manufacturers warranty but has the free lexus years warranty you get when purchased.

If it was like that at purchase and as it has done 92k it may well be classed as normal wear & tear. Looks pretty good for the mileage imho.  Worth asking though.

The car is very good condition I will ask them Tuesday when I drop the car at lexus. Is this a common thing with the leather seats as I couldn't find anything when searching the forum and google? Thanks

That boomerang is not normal and was an issue with early cars.

Thanks rayaans do you work for lexus or have any more info on the problem tsb etc. And are you referring to the circle in dents? Thanks again

No but a lot of early US cars had their seats replaced under warranty

I'm talking about the boomerang shaped indent where the backside usually goes in the drivers seat

I think it was an issue with the foam injection or something.
