Reading poor, Twickenham poor-average. Good points made by 🐀 but on stating these things expect to get a funny look rather than 'of course sir.....'.

That happens to @Big Rat all the time ;)

Chester is my home city....lovely place.  You'll need to ask Lexus Chester to run you into town, it must be close on ten miles outside !

@stelveledzep Usually stay at the Mercure Hotel just up from the park and ride, and get taxis back and forward from the pubs/restaurants.

It genuinely is a nice place, from the south west always take the Wales route right the way up, tell Mrs Rat it's the quickest of course.....cough........cough 👍

Nasty cough you have there .  Our family are in the Chester area so trips up there are a frequent occurrence.  Always had IS250s until recently, so not a performance car like yours Paul.....but the route lends itself to a spirited drive, quite challenging in places.  Especially over the top from Llandrindod Wells to Newtown....watch out for the sheep !

Yes you obviously know the area well, do have to be cautious on that route done it 5 or 6 times now in the last 4 years, ah yes the sheep saw plenty of those, they look pretty solid Lexus derforming customers to say the least 😂

At least one in the South East seems to be up to standard. I had an airbag recall done to the SC430 by Inchcape Lexus Guildford this week and it was a very pleasant experience. From the greeting at reception to the completion of the work they were efficient, very polite and showed genuine interest in the car.

Arrived at noon with a very dirty, non-standard SC430, surrendered the key, apologized for the state of the car and all the...err...non-standard stuff, Alpine/Beatsonic/DLS amp/camera wiring, etc. I was assured 'not to worry' as the best Lexus Tech in the country was assigned to the task.

Quite why I had to wait 5 minutes for a new CT200H courtesy car to be brought around to the front door from the back of the car park when there was a perfectly good V8 GSF right there ready to go, I'll never know?

5 hours later having learnt to drive a hybrid for the afternoon I picked up the SC all clean, highly polished, air bag work all done, paperwork completed, general report on the car attached and the tech had kindly fixed a clock-spring squeak behind the custom steering wheel too. I hadn't asked them to look at anything, he noticed it on the test drive. Okay I left a nice tip but was impressed that when I was leaving the service manager and the technician came out to the car for a chat.

Their £38k ISF seems a bit steep but for service it's top marks from me. Oh of course it's 'Mercury Grey' probably equates to 'Special Silver' hence the inflated price.

Sounds like night and day to my experiences @Neil E, excellent service and some interest in their cars. 👍 The only pastries I've seen at a Lexus dealership @Rebecca was on the carpets of the courtesy car 😁. Good to hear there are some out there doing it right, probably the majority!

One of the happiest periods of car ownership I have ever experienced was back in the day when I had VWs. Nothing to do with the VW brand, just the fact that I found a VW specialist that more than knew his onions. Describe a problem to him and he more than likely diagnosed the issue even before I'd finished my sentence. So, when picking up the car, I knew the issue would have been fixed. Also, being his business, he cared as the buck stopped with him.

I might as well be looking for a hen with teeth, but I'd love to have a local IS-F indie. I'd still get the servicing done at Lexus, but everything else.....

I appreciate Lexus main dealers washing cars. However, I don't expect it and really wouldn't be that upset if they didn't do it. I rarely have time to sample the fruits of the expensive coffee machine and as for the pastries, all I can say is that @Rebecca must be an early bird. I'm much more interested in issues being diagnosed and fixed first time. This is where Lexus have failed me. My IS-F has been back with Lexus no fewer than 7 times since June. I am not going to list the issues, but there have been too many occasions where I've been told 'Yes, we've definitely fixed it this time' only to drive a mile down the road and realise that this is not the case.

By reputation, maybe I expect too much from Lexus and therefore the Lexus dealers :(

Never had a good experience with a dealership. Only experienced those at Audi and Lexus however. Over the years I've had a couple of excellent independent mechanics who obviously have a passion for what they do, which installs absolute confidence when handing your keys over. I don't even think about recording the mileage etc. In some cases it seems the average service/maintenance offered doesn't match the excellent Lexus 'product'.
