Vehicle Identification

I'm on the trail to buy my first LS400 (Mk III hopefully, may be a late Mk II)and have now seen a couple of cars.

Where will I find the chassis no, engine no and VIN so that I can check them against the log book (V5)? Obviously the engine no is on the engine, but where abouts on the monster?

Also, I'm looking at insurance, any recomendations???

Currently the house and my partners car is with direct line and the have quoted me £476 with full NCD which includes a loyalty discount of 10%.

on the IS200 the VIN number is visable thru a section of the front windscreen at the bottom of the passenger side

Hi!

On my 94 LS the vin plate is on the left hand side of the inner wing near

where the suspension strut top nuts are, if you are standing in front of the car looking toward the windscreen.

I pay similar price with direct line..husband and wife only driving.
