Cut out (or exhaust valves) on stock exhaust

Recommended Posts

Hello everyone! I am writing from France and I will very soon be the owner of a lexus isf in replacement of my ma honda s2000. The first thing I plan to improve is the sound of the exhaust.
Have some of you already installed exhaust valves on an original exhaust? Something like this video :

My idea of fitting the exhaust valves

This is very cool, perfect solution in my opinion. Flick of the switch between oem and 'fun time'. Recently on Facebook 'Lexus IS350 and ISF Freaks' page, some guy in the states l did this, or something very similar. Might be worth a look. For us cautious types with warranty, it would invalidate, otherwise I would seriously consider this. 👍

I cant see adding valves to the standard exhaust system will achieve?  Deffo wont improve sound quality.

Replace the restrictive Y pipe and get some custom made back boxes, the valves usually go on the custom back boxes if you want the ability to toggle sound.

Doesn't float my boat personally. I liked getting rid of the fake tip and improving gas flow with a proper system. If sound is all you want this looks a good cost effective solution.

Agree with @Stuno1 on this, I replaced mine because I don't like the "fake" tips and the fact that when one falls off, and they do, you will have a heart attack when you see how much Lexus will charge you for new ones.

Custom built rear section, sounds great.
