Hi guys,

This is my 1st post.

I bought a 2008 spec GS450H and it's an awesome car. Luv it :)

Is there any way of unleashing the full power potential of the electric motor as they seem to hit 250kw when you travel above 140kmh as per YouTube?

Hi Marko. Welcome to LOC. The power meter relates to engine KW output as well as electrical power.

The electric drive motor is rated at around 140 KW this converts to 186 HP. The electric motor has maximum torque at zero speed, and it's torque falls away as it' revs rise the opposite to the engine. Unfortunately you cannot just add electric motor HP to engine HP (186 + 296 = 482). This is because the transmission uses the electrical path from the engine driven generator to supply some of the electric motor drive current.

Hi Marko

Had my GS450h 2008 spec for the last 5 years, trust me I drive in Germany and Europe in general alot. You don't need any more power. Above 140, the car gets quite light at the back end, not scary but it focus the mind. Enjoy the car and the stereo.

Regards

Wayne

Welcome to the forum Marko.

Once the Sport button is pressed the GS should have more than enough 'urgency' for road use.

Even in Normal mode it's more than adequate.

Enjoy the car.
