Anyone got or tried the AA car genie?

The AA are offering this to members for £29, I just wondered if it's worth having.

If you don't know what it is it's on YouTube, but using my phone I can't work out how to include the link!

I took part in the field trials, over 12 months fitted to my CLS55.

The novelty wears off very quickly......

The journey history is interesting, checking out ones cornering, braking and acceleration points.

The driving score is amusing, not sure it was calibrated for a high performance car.

The vehicle health check would be redundant on a Lexus 😉

The phone app was a bit buggy and sometimes lost journeys but I guess they should have sorted that.

I stopped using it when I got my RC and I certainly wouldn't pay to have one.

Also be aware you data could be shared with the authorities, e.g  Police This from the T&Cs

"The AA may also supply Your data to government agencies and local authorities for traffic and highway management purposes"

I was only curious, but not enough to want one. The part about "sharing data" puts me right off!

I have no idea what 'Car Genie' is - but it sounds very much like 'Octo U', a free app available for both Android and apple from their respective stores. More details here http://www.octou.com/
