Aahm oot - ISF heading south

Recommended Posts

So that's the deed done. Black ISF is now on its way south to Kent. New owners are near Blue water so may be visible in the future. The owner is a copper, so keep it clean.

Its been an absolute pleasure to own an ISF and I will admit, it was a little awkward letting it go, but needs must.

Bye everyone, have fun with V8's!!

@Flytvr, it took a few months, that's for sure. There weren't many on when I started, now there seems to be a glut. I know mine has slightly higher mileage than average, but it did necessitate a couple of drops in ticket price before I got the bite.

Nice! :thumbup1:

Glad to hear we may have another F in the neighbourhood soon. Hopefully he'll want to join us at some future events....

Congrats on the sale, and all the best for the future.

Him and his better half are both Police in London and are based in the near-London SE. Sale process was very easy, with the exception of the actual payment mechanism (online / telephone banking). Price was agreed pre-meet, I test drove, showed the features, they had a look round and the deal was done. Happy bunnies all round.

I'm sure he'll fit in; his other vehicles are a twin turbo IS300 and a custom imported / built GT-R (not sure, but I seem to recall R34 being mentioned) with 700bhp.

  • 2 weeks later...

My oldest son has just called me on his bike ride. Looks like we've found Dr Ricks car !  Only five minutes from me. How many more black isf's can you get in one area!  I'll go and say hello next time I'm out in mine, tell him about the forum.

Hey how's it going guys and Matt cheers for the door knock today although all credit should go to your boy for spotting the car!

I do do have a few things in the pipeline for the F but in good time... have to get shot of the Aristo first otherwise the other half may just put my pillow in the drive!

Thank you and yes I am although a bit down hearted to the lack of performance specialists who don't do remap etc for it. In the past I have been the person who does the trial and error stuff but now I want to be the one that gets his money's worth hahaha.

Check out the threads that @Peter18 has posted re all his mods.

He has done some serious stuff to his ISF and having seen / been in it, is very impressive indeed.

Thanks David will do

Hey Andrew,

Thanks to David for the kind words. I have indeed been the only real UK guinea pig for mods, but don't be too disheartened chap. With US interest in these cars ever increasing since the ECU was cracked in Italy a couple of years ago, tuning options have been steadily coming to market.

I'd heartedly recommend RR-Racing in Pennsylvania. Rafi and his brother Simon sell some great parts (most of which I now own! Lol), but they also insist on rigorous road and track testing before they will put their name to any parts.

It's pretty much a case of the sky is the limit nowadays in terms of mods matching your budget. Not done the supercharger kit yet, nor have I bothered with nitrous oxide (get it wrong, big bills!), but there are plenty of things you can look into.

I'd start with the USRS and AOS from RR-Racing, two good mods that add longevity to the mix.

All the best for now, and shout with any questions.

Cheers.

That's great Pete thank you although I am one of those people who likes to take the car watch them remap and go home with the car hahaha. Is there no uk people for that. As for parts I am more than happy to get them from pioneers such as RR.

Thanks

Hi Andrew.

Not that I am aware of?? To be honest, you don't need that kind of thing these days. The guys have done so many remaps now, they can build your map, email it to you, you load it to the OBD 2 hand controller, plug it into the OBD2 port under the dashboard, upload the new map, unplug and go! You just need to send them a base map which they work from.

It's a really easy process that can be quickly reversed if needed, and future mods will not incur as much cost (only need a remap if you fit their tuned intake system or supercharger kit).

Be interesting to see what SIKKY end up putting together on their demo car.

It's certainly a good time to be getting involved, as things are starting to get interesting for sure!

Hahaha I have a primitive brain it seems. I guess should see if any isf guys have a handset hahaha. I was thinking headers to go with the custom exhaust that's on the car. Is the base maps not the same for these cars?

Hi Andrew.

I believe there are actually a number of slightly different versions of our ECU's. The US domestic market ECU isn't the same as the UK, nor the ones for Canada or the Middle East.

I don't think the differences are huge, but by sending over a base map from your own car, it allows them to ensure all your base readings are ok before changing anything. Call it a further layer of safety checks.

Headers are a good idea. Pretty much the single biggest area to gain performance other than the big ticket items like a supercharger kit.

Keep in mind you need them configured in RHD, so unfortunately you can't buy a second hand set from the States as they won't fit! :whistling:

Think it was a further 8-10 week wait time as well for PPE to make my headers (don't have RHD versions on their shelves as sales are pretty low).

I do believe you can use my OBD 2 hand controller to re-map your car. Luckily RR-Racing don't lock them down like some hardware to only one car, so we can sort that out without any real issues.

Cheers for now.

Pete I think our best bet is to meet up and go through options in person and your a legend.... would your map not work on mine as they are both uk spec right?

I go holiday Saturday so would need to be when I get back lol

Hi Andrew.

Sure, let's plan to meet up once you are back from your holiday.

My base map should be the same as yours, but given mine is a 2008, and yours is a 2010, we'd be better off reading it directly from your ECU.

It's not a big job, and can be done relatively easily. You then email that to RR-Racing, tell them what modifications you have on your car, what rev limit you want (mine is now 7,200RPM which is above the factory 6,800RPM limit), and they then send you the map that best corresponds with your car.

If you then add something like the tuned intake I got, you need to tell them about it so they can create another map to send for you to load via the OBD 2 port.

Other nice touch with this method is should they find any improvements later on down the line, you get those free of charge.

We can discuss everything in person though Andrew, be easier (hopefully! Lol).

Cheers for now, and enjoy your holiday!

Pete
