Hi all

I have been the proud owner of a IS300 H for two weeks now ,and i am very pleased with it . Having owned a Honda Accord 2.4 auto for ten years i was a little concerned about changing to a hybrid .After reading all the negative reviews of the Lexus by the motoring press,i ignored it and did my research on this site , reading real life owners real world findings. So here i am , and very pleased with the car so far, double the fuel consumption of the Honda , and  quick enough when needed.The dealership experience  was amazing , very helpful and polite.

My main reasons for buying a Lexus where;

Reliability [very important to me ]

Hybrid technology

Looks . not everyone and their dog own one [getting lots of nice comments  already]

So here's to a happy  Lexus experience ,and keep up the good work on this fantastic site.

Best Regards

Steve.

Welcome to the forum Steve and the land of Lexus ownership.

I recently made the jump from a Honda and haven't looked back, although the Civic was a good all rounder.

The 2.4 Accord is known to be fairly thirsty, did it have much more torque than the 2.0?

Enjoy the hybrid drive and get some pictures online for us if you can.

Thanks for the welcome ,

Farqui ,  i cant remember the torque figures but the Honda certainly had some grunt when you stood on the go pedal, bullet proof engine , and only 1 headlight bulb and Battery in 66000 miles and 10 years ownership .Hope the lexus is as reliable .

Welcome @ST100

I'm just three weeks into Lexus ownership after a good few years with Honda, including an Accord 8th Gen. My dealership experience was also excellent, and so far I'm blown away by the quality of my new NX. Hopefully Lexus will be as reliable as my Hondas were. Everything suggests they will be.

Currently I'm achieving 10mpg more in my hybrid NX than I was in my petrol/auto CRV, so I'm a believer!

Still surprises me how the 2.4 shifts  and  my previous cars was an IS300 petrol and GS430 V8 the Accord is not a V8 but does shift for its engine size and packed with many toys in the Executive trim.. the previous owner had mine from new and kept it for 12 years before i bought off him so seems owners of accord keep them for long. the torque is enough to shift the car and  its more close to 2.4 and 2.5 litre   6 cylinder petrol engines from other manufactures of its era..
