Hi everyone, I've just had service done on my 250 including plugs. I've just noticed mpg is saying 18.9 instead of the usual 22-24. Is this normal and will it go back to the way it was. I think the 12v Battery had to come out to get the plugs in on the passenger side. Thanks in advance everyone.

As you say, if the power is disconnected I assume the mpg is reset? What sort of driving have you done since you picked it up. If you've just pootled around town then don't forget it's an average so it will be low. Try resetting and go for a steady cruise up the motorway. See what happens then.

My first gen IS doesn't have such statistical wizardry. I think I prefer not to know

I got the car back on Saturday morning checked average mpg on Monday night and it said 16 mpg. Now it's at 18.9. Will it return to its original average the more I use the car.
Thanks again.

When i had mine done, it was just the same as before they were done. Just had air bag done and checked mileage said 33 mph car had to go to bradford.

A week later with my driving style, 28 that is with town and motor way driving.

That's how averages work. Whether or not it returns to the exact figure you had before depends on how you drive, weather conditions, wind speed and a whole host of other parameters - and don't forget fuel consumption always goes up in the winter months.

It started off at 16 when o I get the back. Now it's just under 19. So I'll see what happens. Thanks
