My RR-Racing Supercharger Build

Any car over 600bhp is monster...period.

I must admit its a crazy mod for 10k, and the cost sounds very good for a common performance car like audi, bm or merc. But to do it on a very rare car like the ISF which lets face it probably zero performance specialist in thr UK would have touched is imho very good price.

@Peter P18correct me if im wrong, im guess you must of paid about 1.5k in duty?

I would love to see it toe to toe against the likes of a nissan GTR Remapped etc.

Will be watching this post closely.

Morning.

It’s a sizeable investment when you consider that’s close to half the value of an early IS-F, but I’m not worried about it. Very few supercharger kits have been sold worldwide so far, but when you look closely at the parts being used, you realise this isn’t a cheap kit by any means.

You're correct on the duty/VAT figure as well near enough.

Trouble is going to be delivering that extra power to the tarmac, GTR has a distinct advantage being 4WD, as opposed to our RWD. Rolling starts will be fine, but from stationary, not so much! Lol. :wink3:

It’s the unique soundtrack I’m looking forward to hearing, sounded good before it was supercharged, so should be on a whole new level with the whistles, chirps etc! :thumbup1:

Lee is also looking to re-install the main engine cover (some of it anyway!), which will probably be another first, as I’ve not seen it on any of them before.

Hoping the missing silicone coupler we need actually turns up today. It’s certainly starting to come together though.

I like it with the engine cover! Just make sure those edges have a nice smooth consistent gap to the pipe work and it will look great. Could always do a bit of glass fiber work to hide those open edges etc. and get it wrapped or painted.

One word.....Pure s*x

I'd get rid of the engine cover and leave it looking raw

Thanks, will see how I get on with the modified engine cover, as I said, not expecting everyone to like it, but does look neater. :wink3:

Thanks, I'm sure Lee and the team will be making good with the finish/gaps etc before I get the car back, it was just a teaser photo of how it looks with part of the main engine cover cut away. Will post finished photos at some point.

Thats looking like such a good kit/install.

Dear Santa....

Lol, thanks. You'd need to have been REALLY good this year for Santa to put one of these in your stocking! :wink3:

Couple of teaser photos from Lee. Main engine cover is a work in progress, so keep that in mind.

It’s growing on me, but can see it being a Marmite point! :wink3:

That looks sexual.

If you don't post any videos/soundclips of it once done then I will find you and I will kill you ;-)

@FTBBCVoodoo Is that threat on the basis that the type r won’t sound the same 😂

🐀

Type R's sound poverty nowadays and the H&S exhaust is more expensive on that than the ISF :-(

But not an actual threat.  Probably more along the lines of...  I will find you and I will make you take me for a test drive :-)

Hey Lee,

I'll do some videos and sound clips, but it will sound much better in person I imagine! :yahoo:

Hoping to do a couple of shows next year, plus a few meets where I can....

Also planning to take it to Le Mans next year, so should be a good test for it!

It's a shame so many F owners are in the North of the Country, but if Big Rat can get this meet organised for the 10yr anniversary, I'll hopefully be able to attend that.

Still feel the only proven option for our cars is the one from Rafi/Simon at RR-Racing. As you also have seen from my sneak preview photos from Lee at SRD, most of my covers are back in place as well which was something the Op was saying they preferred about the Bullet offerings.....

My peace of mind with this kit is the fact Rafi/Simon have sold a fair few now, and continue to use/test on their own demo car. The kit wasn't available to buy until they were happy with it, unlike others that would be thrown together and sold with little or no testing.

The choice of parts by Rafi/Simon is also a good indication of the quality this kit provides. They didn't choose any shortcuts or inferior parts. I had to wait an extra couple of weeks to place my order because the revised pulley design wasn't up to scratch, and Rafi had refused to accept it. It's that level of attention to detail that continues to impress me with these guys.

Today’s update....it lives!!

Lee has fired it up, but needs to be run in properly on Friday. He’s not in tomorrow, which is fair enough.

I’d mentioned the idea of installing the new AFR/boost gauge in the drivers side air vent, so asked Lee to see what he thought. Next thing I know, he’s done it! :thumbup1:

Looks spot on, really happy with how it looks.

The main engine cover has also been worked on, and again looks spot on.

Roll on Friday! :yahoo:
