Faulty heater control unit

Recommended Posts

Hi

I have an F sport on a 13 plate done 50k. This week I started the car and noticed the heating system was blank, went to turn it on and it was completely dead. Restarted the car and it came in straight away. Strange I thought I'll keep my eye on it. Anyway it's kept doing it every day and also the heated seats are dead too so I video it and sent it to my local Lexus dealer stoke. They have been fantastic and diagnosed it as the heater control unit. They told me the part costs 1100 luckily I have used warranty for 12 months. Is going in tomorrow to have the work carried out, anyone else had this issue?

Cheers

Carl

Hi vlad

Turns out it wasn't the heater control unit, it was a unit behind the dash the diverts the air to the different vents for the climate control. This had a short and was causing the control unit to go off and also no heated or cooled seats.  Lexus stoke said this was the first was they had ever replaced.

Anyway it was all sorted under warranty and I'm now nice and warm again lol

Cheers

Carl
