I've been told by two dealers and the warranty dept direct that as my car is 'modified' then they would not warranty it :sad:

This was when I only had an intake and filter on it although others appear to have warranties with H&S fitted so not sure what the hard and fast rule is.

Mr Warranty Dept at Lexus said that even if my brakes failed they'd not warranty them as the car had been 'modified' regardless of the fact that the mods and the failure were totally unrelated.

My car goes in tomorrow for the airbag recall and water pump replacement. I’ve also told them I’d like to buy the extended warranty while I’m there. My car has the HPS intake and Toms panel filter so fingers crossed they’ll let me have the warranty. It’s Lexus Coventry and they do know my car so hopefully it’ll be ok!

Quite fancy the intake kit on mine. If anything like bike filters improves response quite a bit being able to breath better. This is one reason asking about claims likely issues.

I must admit I am surprised by the amount of claims and values from such a small group versus Lexus perceived quality.

I guess it's possibly skewed by being an enthusiasts' car and problems bring people to forums.

Unsurprising there are no engine gearbox faults but the other problems do appear expensive to fix. Having looked at the price of BMW warranty I ma now falling off the fence towards getting the warranty.

@Big Rat

I had expected no engine and gearbox claims which in my mind felt would be the premium claims. Expecting most 400-100 claims for ancillary parts.

Enlightening poll despite a couple of spurious data points :laugh:

Talking of Gearbox, there was a guy lost his oil last year - did that get resolved?

So been in Lexus Coventry today and they didn’t fail to impress with their amazing service!

Airbag sorted for recall + £25 of free fuel!

Waterpump replaced

Warranty purchased no questions asked even with my intake and filter (car is 10 in March)

Offer of champagne and canapés (no joke!)

also had a sit in the black GSF they’ve got, look a lot better in the flesh, very nice car!
