Insurance costs

Recommended Posts

I know that any answers I get will have to be taken with a pinch of salt because insurance premiums vary wildly around the country, by occupation, by which way the wind is blowing and by what colour socks you have on, but I'd just like to see if I can get a general 'ballpark' figure, so I'd be grateful if anyone with a 62/13-plated RX450h F-Sport could tell me how much they pay please.

Thanks

Just go onto Confused.com and put your details in to get a lot of quotes. This will give you some idea.  :wink3:

True, but that takes at least 20 minutes and you get follow-up calls and/or emails, which is a lot more hassle than you folks on here just typing four characters such as £542...£673...£367...etc and me just averaging the results

I paid £465 on my 3RX almost every year after the 2nd year. The first year it was £560 or something.

I had mine down for 10k miles, 3k of those were business miles and a tracker. Fully comprehensive of course and excess was usually around £500-600

Not got an FSport but on a 2011 SE-I mine is around £550 for business use.

Post codes can make a vast difference.. a friend of mine near Manchester tired it with his Goldwing and keeping everything the same the quote for his was more than double that using my post code.

When using these sites you can 'accidentally' get the last number of your phone number wrong and use a secondary 'junk' email address as I refer to it, for exactly this type of communication. Use a different Surname but your s*x/age/history & postcode to gain accurate quotes.

Worth remembering that although those quotes give an indication of the area, because Insurance companies check your credit score, they won't be entirely accurate as they won't be able to pull the details

:w00t:  I've just read on the yahoo finance news that insurance quotes are often reviewed with your email account too............ a Hotmail account ADDS £36.41 or summat to your pricing :zorro:

Direct Line were £666.40 for us on the 63-plate RX450h Advance that we bought on Friday. Fully comp, myself and wife only to drive, both on more than 10 years NCB each, with business use for both of us. Ended up using A-Plan brokers who got us a policy with Allianz for £630. Hopefully we'll have more time to shop around and get it cheaper next year.

Should have told you to check out Chris Knott - they offered to beat any quote I had for my RX

Directline dont like me - they always give me ridiculously expensive prices

Im on Admiral Multicar - £1k for RX and IS.
