Exhaust mount

I had my car in for an MOT recently. It passed the MOT but the visual safety report video showed that at the centre section of the exhaust, the exhaust mount was starting to break away. The technician said he recommended getting it checked out in a month or so. The advisory report says "Short system worn / damaged centre mount partly broken off."

I am wondering what to do about this, Lexus quoted £420.09 to repair.

I have attached screengrabs of the parts of the video which shows the technician pulling at the mount. Can anyone advise, is there part of the mount missing? Could I get this fixed without having to replace the system?

Difficult to see from the pics but you could probably get someone to weld this for a 1/10 of the cost of replacing the exhaust section.
That's what I was thinking. I'll have to find a good local welder.

Definitely get it welded it makes sense. Lexus just want to replace the whole thing. I doubt for one minute there’s anything wrong with the system.
