Well, its back together, but I have a problem. I took it for its maiden voyage only to find that:

1. The water temp gets hot very quickly.

2. Lack of Power

3. loud rattle/knock from one of the valves I think.

4. Bit too smokey for my liking.

5. Oil Pressure is low, the gauge is reading 13.2lb on tickover.

6. When at junctions, she stalls.

7. Boost pressure still in minus figures when engine under load :crybaby:

Not a very good start Im afraid, and Im stuck as to what could be causing it, Im hoping its something simple, Im wondering if I replaced the Thermostat the right way round !

How do I reset the ECU? Aido told me, but I can remember what he said !!

I thoought she was finished........but the engine needs to come out, Im suffering some serious valve slap and the head at the very least needs a rebuild, not sure about the bottom end as yet. So you can all imagine how I feel at the minute, I could cry....seriously.

Heres a few pics of the finished item:

Yipee, Ive seen light at the end of the tunnel.

I have found an engine, and bought it. Luckily the proceeds of the spares I have sold so far just about cover it.

Full engine, less alternator and starter motor, 15,000 miles genuine, with a 3 month warranty - £650 delivered to the door !

My question is though - will it be OK running on the existing ECU? I would imaginie it should be OK, but best check first ......

Looks like Ive gotta spend easter stripping the old engine out instead of eating chocolate and drinking beer ! :crybaby:

I will then, most probably, when Ive raised some more cash, have this old engine totally rebuilt by a specialist.

The next stage of the development is underway - Suspension & Brakes !

Tein with EDFC

DBA 4000 Series brake discs front and Rear with Ferrodo Pads

5Zigen GN+ 18" Rims in Bronze

Would be very very nice if I could lay my hands on a set of front calipers of some sort; AP/Wilwood etc etc.

Should look and handle much better.

Shes back in the bodyshop again next week to get the cracks in the front bumper sorted :crybaby: and to get the rear spoiler removed and the new one fitted.

Not happy with the grafix so their in the process of being redesigned, it seems that the chrome vinyl doesnt like sharp pointy edges and lifts a bit in places, which is just not on.

Another job done.

The Tein Super Street suspension is fitted, and so are the DBA 4000XS Discs front and rear.

The suspension, combined with the uprated anti roll bars make her handle much better. No Roll, No Yaw, No Dive, and she stops on a dime.

The wheels should be here next week, cant wait. Ive decided to boot em up with Falken rubber, Ive heard so many good stories about the Falken rubber, so figured I would give em a go.

One slight problem though.

The pillow-ball top mounts on the Tein Dampers dont half squeek :crybaby:

Will Post Pics 2morrow

Well, the rear wing is fitted, I think it suits the car just right. The Tein is setup nicely, and coupled with the uprated anti-roll bars makes one heck of a difference. The DBA Discs front and Rear have improved the braking by a huge margin, and it will stop on a diime. Im just waiting for the new wheels to be delivered now, and then I can then start on Phase II :winky:

Your car is looking spot on Pete. I was just gonna ask about the colour difference of the carbon bonnet and the Granite sky, cos I'm thinking of getting a carbon bonnet but didn't want it to stand out too much from the original colour.

After seeing that last pic I think I'll go ahead and get one, it looks well.

Was after a carbon spoiler too but I think that one you have would be a bit too much for my car. I'll go for something a bit more subtle.

What front bumper/splitter is that???

Thanks for that. The carbon bonnet looks well with the granite sky and doesnt stand out too much. When the sun shines, it brings out the really nice fibre detailing. I was a little un-nerved when I first fitted the rear spoiler, but I think that was because it was a totally new look, but now I like it, and seems to sit nice and its lines follow the car well. Its all down to personal preference though.

The front splitter is the JP Designs Genesis kit from the U.S, which needed modding to fit, but well worth it. The only draw back is that I have very little front ground clearance.

last Sunday wasnt much fun, as I ran over a hedghog :yack: It came scuttling across a country lane, and I figured it would go under the car and be OK, but I forgot about the groound clearance, and it scooped it up  . I saw a sad faced slow moving old hedgehog as it bounced off the bonnet of my car. Poor thing, I felt sickened for hours after that. No damage done to the car though, at least one of us was lucky.
