Learning Off Road

There is a slight difference between an official "private road" and a road that becomes private after closing hours ..... eg a supermarket car park.

Where was you planning on doing this, and what times etc ?

The supermarket I was thinking of opens 24 hrs so guess that doesn't count as private road then?

A while back I let them drive my car for a short distance on a camp site with loads of empty space just to boost confidence ready for learning properly with a driving school.

Thought I might do the same once again sometime once they can find funds for lessons. Can't do much more than that as to teach them properly on public roads would cost me an extra £2000 in insurance. :o

Then if the supermarket is opened for 24 hours, then it won't be a private road, and for the purposes of the road traffic act - this will remain a public road.

There is a place called Car Drome in Romford, is like a simulated little town, it's £10 a day ... and you can take your own car, and anyone car drive.

Try somewhere like that ?
