Key Cover + Little Screw

Guys and Gals

Does anyone out there have a Genuine Lexus Key Cover, the bit with the Gold L logo?

When I went to change the Battery in the key I found that the tiny tiny screw had been worn away from possible previous attempt to change the Battery!

Tried everything but in the end Mr Black and Decker was the only man to do the job! In him doing his job though the fecker mangled the screw even more and cracked the top cover a little bit.

I've seen lots of key shells on eBay but I want a genuine key cover and the little screw also. The transponder and back section of the key, with the key blade attached, are perfect so just need the top and the screw.

Anyone able to help?

The Cover is available on its own from Lexus and costs about £8.60 (although they would need a chassis number to get the right one as there are a few variants), and the screw is 92p (Part Number is 89759-41020). Looks like they are available within a couple of days.

I can't beleive that there is part number for a damn screw !!!!!!

They hard to remove without mangling so I can well believe there is a need for these little screws!!!

True, we have a lot of people ask for them as the heads round off quite easily if the right screwdriver isn't used, so we keep most types in stock just in case.

Also there has to be a part number for every part on every car, you would be amazed by how many different bloody clips you can get on a Lexus

The screw thread on my second key is shot. Went to local Lexus/Toyota dealer to get the Battery changed and was told they could not open it and would not force it.

Any suggestions? Drill it out carefully? The Key seems to work manually, so I am a bit reluctant to mess with it.

I got a replacement key on fleabay, had it cut at the market and transferred the innards. Total cost less than £20.00 Two years later I'm looking for a new screw!!!. I suspect the easiest fix for me will be to buy a new key and take the screw from it.
