Anyone need a Ho or some gear.

Aquired my (first car) Lexus IS200 Sport at 36 now waiting for a 250 SE-L Auto

23, drove a Nissan Cabstar, most dangerous thing i have ever been in. Brake in the wet and the world just spins around, next thing you know your loking through the windscreen of the car behind you.

3 Transit Pick ups (Last one custom built interior stacked with over 5k of hifi) Beast of a sound, Competition winner and Max Power Top Gun.

All down hill since then.

I'm just 23, bought my 200 sport for myself as a bit of a 23rd birtday present, used to drive a 306 and b4 that a 1984 mini wich was a right laugh. Didnt really like the 306 coz it was a bit boring and diesel :( guess thats why it doesnt have a decent following like the mini and lexus.

Loving my IS ... well all except for the CD player (err3) lol but im sure i can breath life back in to it somehow! :D

Guys

38 here. This is my first Lex (IS250 Sport MM) as I have always bought German (VW & Audi). I think that the larger versions of Lexus are driven by a more mature adult, probably due to the cost of purchase. Incidentally, I ordered the Lex in January and am due to take delivery on September 1st, after a 9 month wait! Hope it is going to be worth it? :offtopic:

One thing I do hope is that the IS 250 does not get the "Chav" reputation that the IS200 has. I know that that may upset a few of you and honestly it is not my intention but the only IS200's I ever see are driven by twenty something’s in Burberry Caps! At least it is bringing down the average age of a Lex driver.

Hi everyone, only just joined, first post and I'm about to mess up your averages.

70, with an IS 300 sat-nav.

Welcome!

Are you going to tell us what your first car was ;)

It was a 1955 austin A30, 803cc, 28H.P. (not sure how much of it got to the rear wheels) and brakes that would work for at least a couple of applications prior to getting so hot that braking distances might suddenly double. Four speed gearbox, not much synchromesh,so all downchanges had to be double-declutching.

I'm 31, bought my first and so far only Lex about 7 weeks ago. IS200SE Auto - I've driven far too many miles now to be bothered about racing about, and if I do feel like a thrash, there's a Yamaha R6 at home waiting... B) 0-60 in 3.3 seconds anyone?

First car was Metro 1.1C after uni, had it for about 3 months then got a job with a company car. Since then I'd never owned another car till I bought this Lex!! Had all the usual suspects for company motors - VW Passat TDi (written off after barrel rolling it down a country lane! ), 2x Mondeo TD, Vectra DI (reliable as chocolate fireguard), Fiat Brava auto (utter, utter cr*p), Fiat Brava TD (better), Avensis auto (dull), and finally a new-style Avensis TD (biiiiig improvement).

And then the Lex - best of the bunch by a country mile! Until I swap it in a year or two's time for either a late, low mileage IS300 or an early IS250 auto that is!!

I'm 35. On my 2nd IS. First was an SE, now got a SportCross for the Hatchback boot.

Very first car was a old R-reg (78?) Mark 2 Escort. Extras included mushrooms in the passenger footwell due to holes in the floor!! Gypos nicked it eventually!! Only took the stereo, the speakers and the Battery out when it was found!! Most valuable bits!!

Hey folks, i've been following this forum for many months now and hopefully will join many of you in becoming a Lexus owner within the next month (providing there are no more delays)

Anyway, myself being 23 years of age and the Lexus IS250 SE being my first car (i.e the first car i have ever bought, not driven) i was wondering what the average age of all you lexus owners are, if you dont mind me asking?? The few times i have seen a new IS, it always appears to be an old guy behind the wheel?? The reason i went for Lexus was because i was fed up with BMW, Mercs, and Audis, just seem too common and i could get some exclusivity with the Lexus, and ofcourse the reliabaility etc.......

It would be interesting to know, so be honest !!!

hi 41 just about to take delivery of my first lexus IS220D, had bmw and audi's

I always wonder and am jealous of how people below 20 can afford a £27k car... I mean what kind of student loans do they get approved of these days? (or what generous parents they have) ;-) *joke*

I had my first banged up 96 golf mk3 1.6 (!!!) at 21, which after a year started giving loads of problems so went for a 95 A4 1.8. A year later that gave way to a 00 A4 1.8T Quattro, which a year later again was joined by a 94 Mitsu GTO 3.0 Twin Turbo. The GTO was so fun that I decided to say goodbye to the lovely A4 turbo a few months later. Sold the GTO and moved to Hong Kong, now I have just bought a 99 IS200 sport.

24 First car was an Asta 1.4 followed by a GTE. Then bought a Fiat Punto (big mistake), then bought a brand new mini cooper at 22 and spents loads on it. Now trying to find a nice is200 se or sport. All my cars have been bought with my own money. However I do have friends that have been far more sucessful then I have and can afford to spend £27+ on a new car.

36 and this is my first Lexus.

At 23 I think I was driving a Triumph herald, then a very, very, rare manual 1960 Mk1 P5 Rover 3 Ltr saloon, that had the added extras of...disk brakes, sunroof and overdrive. Despite being a 33 years old it had only done 59,000 miles when I bought it and it was rotten :crybaby: , this was swapped for a Mk 5 2ltr cortina that had the doors welded shut, the roof cut off and nothing to keep it dry if it rained :duh: The car was mine, the garage was my just as unsensible parents! :P :P :P

I'm a bit more sensible now :whistling:

42 when I got my first Lex four years ago, never looked back since!

Not had many cars cos I get too attached to them and can't let them go.

My first car was an 1850 Dolomite.

I currently own a brace of MG's, a Rover 827 Vitesse, a Corsa and of course the Lex.
