New Child Seatbelt / Restraint Law

One quick question.

My eldest daughter is 8. She is 1.40 metres tall. Is she allowed to sit in the front seat without a booster?

The advise seems a bit vague.

She normally sits in the back, without a booster, but occasionally I let her sit in the front on a short trip.

The new law is under 1.35 metres tall. The law is there for the reason that shorter kids will have the diagonal belt across their necks. However you may have a kid that is 1.36 metres tall with long legs and a short body and that is legal but the diagonal will still be across their neck. Common sense should prevail here, I still see kids jumping about in cars with no belts whatsoever and does the driver get knicked

That's very interesting...... ;)

Is it a new European law? as a debate has started in Ireland recently about this as well

Yes another European directive, we are all totally stupid so the EU will spend a few millon to study the issue, state the bleedin' obvious and pat all the lazy, fat aholes that work there on the back.
