Hi. I am too lazy to read back through all of the previous posts and I am sure this has cropped up before, but does anyone know a simple way to turn off or disconnect the irritating reversing bleeper on an IS200?

Thanks.

Clive

The first time you look over your shoulder to reverse then bump the front because it was in first is the time you wish you hadn't disconnected it :D . Conversely you feel a bit of a Wally when you try and move off from the traffic lights in reverse. How long do you drive it in reverse to make it that irritating???

This question has popped up loads of times, maybe the admin should pin it for those to lazy and idle to use the search..... :D

along with all the other common questions.... but think this has been suggested in the past but no FAQ so far.....

  • 1 month later...

I was looking for it last night because my IS200 has 2 different beeps. One which is intermittent when you are in reverse and one which is linked to the qty 4 reversing sensors on the bumper (I think these are Toyota ones though because Lexus won't touch them).

In the boot N/S behind the panel is a black box. If you pull the cable off this box, the beeping stops. I'm unsure what else it links up to though so be warned. . .

Anyone know anything about the toyota sensors? Since Lexus had it they are now too quiet.

if i would be a mod then i would but as i was removed from that post....... but as there are plenty of other mods it would be very easy to ask each mod to do about 2 questions each that should cover most of the Q's. ;)
