Looks like Lysholm S/C'd IS200 number two may be coming along soon...................

More than likely, just the i's to dot and the t's to cross :whistling:

I did say it is a deal with the devil.............

What about Rotrex supercharger ? cheaper and easy to fit, so costs less :winky:

I don't want all that much, but 220 to 230 will be good to start with

Why not just do a decent job with the standard charger kit?

I'm runnning 229bhp with the standard TTE boost. Would save you a LOT of money.

@ Gord the rotrex has no brackets made no piping made..............the tdi one has no drawings so will have to be done from scratch watch the ££££££££££££'s pile on

@ Stav its not like for like..............second hand 90's technology against 2008 technology.............and new vs used unles you want to spend £5000 for a "new" TTE unit

Never said it was, but it produces the power he wants for prob half the price. That is assuming he can get a second hand charger setup.

As brice1ie said his problem was only the loud sound it made, which some people may infact enjoy :) I'm just not aware they fitted any others yet, which I'm sure Dave will tell me.

Well if you like the noise of a jet engine at idle... then you´d love the noise that my car was making.. especially when your driving at 30mph... but for me... well i prefer if heads turned because my car was wizzing passed rather than them turning because they thought an commerial jet was landing on the road behind them! :winky:

But with Steve from Charlesworth on the case.. well sure it´ll be purring again... be it more like a lion than a kitten!

I know of a sencond hand one (tte) that will be for sale, when Steve sorts Tom's out :D

Exactly, there you go then

Plus getting himself an emanage and mapping and he's got the power he wants. and no more than £3.5k including a new e-manage, and fitting i reckon.

is it me or does it seem the the is300 is easier to turbo than the is200 as seen in america, and if so why is this as many turbo'd is200's seem not to work or have many problems

The IS300 Turbo & SC cars are common over in the USA, but don't forget a lot of that came from conversions for NA Supras so they know what works etc.

The main problem with the UK IS300's is that they are RHD - and I don't think any of the kits available in the USA will fit the RHD car due to the steering column.

Bit of a bummer really - but put it this way - my supercharger for the IS and the wheels and body kit I bought cost me as much as the Aristo I'm driving - and I've gone from say 215bhp to more than 350bhp - crazy stuff really!!!

Didn't want to start a fight!!

IF a TTE was to become available then yes that will go on the car thats a no brainer.

Although I had the £'s when the last one was around my company needed them more for cash flow purposes. Now all the bills are paid I can do the upgrade and get the car I thought I was getting in the first place.

I looked seriously at the turbo kit currently for sale, but turbo IS's just seem to be utterly un-reliable also it is set up for a T4 which will have more lag then an 80's Escort turbo, rev lag, more lag boost change gear lag boost OH time for a gear change again etc!!

We will see what the new year brings I can't see this deal being done B4 then.... Then again if I get Dave drunk at the xmas party he may move the decimal point in my favour.

When Dave has his is200 turbo, i did have a drive if it, it was very very nice to drive, dont know what size turbo Dave was running, but in sure it was smaller than Sam's, and i think was running @ about 250bhp ish :D

why dont you go down the aristo/supra route the powers there instantly thats what ill be doing next year,i cant see the point personally of spending out 2k-5k just for more power on the IS,id hate to guess the amount sam has spent and the time hes been without his car

Beleve me or not I think the Supra is ugly but it does have one of the best engines ever to be put into a car. I have never seen an Aristo so I can't comment on that car.

Thats an Aristo:

when youve been in an aristo(basically a gs300) you might change your mind about spending more on the IS

Had both.............IS200 s/c...............then is200 turbo..................and toyota aristo v300 with 400 bhp

aristo is the dogs bollox BUT its fooking big you need to bear that in mind.................also only auto which is OK but for serious press on driving it keeps changing up when you don't want it..................

if you are a motorway driver all the time then its Aristo every time..............if you do lots of twisty road driving then its the IS200..............

Doing time attack & toyota sprint series in the aristo and my is350 i was 5/10 seconds quicker in the is350 every time.............is350 was 50 bhp down but much nimbler

also fuel on the Aristo driven hard is low teens..............against low twenties for the IS200
