That's pretty scary if they did drive it away without the keys. Although as Aido says, it's quite likely they towed it away, but that would have set the alarm off, was the car locked and alarmed?

Sorry to hear that mate, hope you get it back in one piece.

the only thing i can think of is that the car keys where on the window ledge, about 1 ft away from the front of the car, maybe the t**t tried the doors and it let him in,not to sure really.

Sorry to hear that - could they have towed it possibly or was it parked in parallel with other cars around it?

it's ok mate just one of them things, the car was parked on its own on the drive

Its a definite tow-away. But they would need a full-lift. Its impossible to do without the keys.

Have you bought it recently? Are you sure another set of keys were not made for this vehicle? Lexus MAY be able to tell you, although it can be dealer specific.

Gutting mate sorry to hear that. The front of them though to take it off your drive.

Makes me mad to think we work hard to pay for our luxuries and then some low life can just come and take it.

I know exactly you feel i once had my brand new ST stolen, no keys, no broken glass no tow truck. The only thing the police said was that a key must've been cut, and funnily enough i had it in at Ford a week prior to its theft, coincidence!?

Have you had or has anyone else had your keys recently?

Hope its recovered and the scum get run over or something nasty happens to them. Although karma never seems to get these kind of people.

Not sure about a 250 but with a 200 it wouldnt!

Does it not set it off? I had no idea, I assumed all cars did that nowadays.......

No theres no vibration or movement sensors, just door sensors and interior.

i heard there is a program you can use connected to a fob and it reprograms the fob with all the poss key codes and tests them via your fob to try and unlock the doors and once it gets the right combo it will alow you to start the car on a is250 as all it requires is the fob, heard this can be done on almost every car just some you need to run the program twice with 2 different code lists 1 for unlocking doors and other for unlocking imboliser maybe they could of done that but spose towing it away is easier

Surely the breakers would have been arrested for recieving/handling stolen goods/car as it can't have had

correct paperwork ? That should mean they will drop the thieves in it with any luck :whistling:

From what was said earlier it would seem that it was the breakers who under investigation by the police

Hi,

sorry to hear about the car, With these new cars you require a transponder key, the ignition switch interrogates the key and if the transponder matches unlocks the main computer, unfortunately someone has developed a small machine which reads the transponder code from the key, takes 10 seconds, then memorises it. you can then buy key heads with settable transponder chips. With the ignition number written inside the driver door you can program a key cutter to easily cut a new key onto which you fit the newly reset transponder key and you have a proper key for the car. all you need is access to the car and key for 5 minutes, have you had it serviced recently?

hi all

when you scrap a car, don't you need the log book (V5) to prove its yours? if so the breakers are to be suspected to. if the breakers are not following the rules it would be good to know. personally i work with police agencies, so i can easily tell them about it. andy, do you know where the breakers are in london?

Andy did say that it appeared that the Police had been watching the breakers for some time, from which I would assume that they were watching them to get evidence that they were involved in illegal activities.
