Trc Fuse?

Recommended Posts

Does anyone know where the location, if there is at all one, is for the traction control fuse?

I have a Is200 SE Manual and the traction control button doesn't seem to do anything. By this i mean no lights coming up on the dashboard or much difference to the performance of the driving (when pushed).

Thanks in advance!

much difference to the performance of the driving (when pushed).????????:unsure:

all it does is switch the traction control off??you wont notice any difference performance.if you push the snow button do you notice a light on the dash(below your speedo)if you do push the trc button as the light comes up around the same place.it says trc off.

Thanks for you replay mate.

What i mean with difference to performance is specifically skidding. When the snow button is pushed, the light comes on and it feels like the car is getting less power. When the trc is pressed, no light comes on. I have pushed the car and i haven't managed to make it skid, dont know if its just my driving :)

I want to rule out the possibility of an electronic fault, do you know where the fuse might be?

You can still slide the car with the TRC on it just cuts the power once the back starts to come out a bit. The TRC is not sophisticated and IIRC works if the rear wheels are going a certain percent faster than the car then it cuts the fuel injectors. Therefore it will not correct understeer only oversteer or straight line rear wheel spin.

Maybe try spinning the rear wheels in a straight line on a wet road? V easy for me with the charger in 1st in the wet but should be easy enough for you too.

You should also try replacing the bulb in the guage for the TRC light.

Here's a wiring diagram if it's any help to you http://bahamutcars.free.fr/workshop/IS_98-...l.php?code=r_37

Looks like the ABS & TRC share the same 60amp fuse. If that had blown I assume the ABS light would be on as well. Could be the TRC switch is faulty & doesn't close the circuit when pushed. You could try wiring around it like these Japanese guys have so TRC is permanently disabled when you turn the car on. (*note*you can turn it back on for when your mum is driving the car).

If you are trying to get the back end out around corner (skidding/drifting) you need to turn off the VSC which cuts the power when you go sideways. There is a fuse under the bonnet for this.

PLEASE BE CAREFUL! I pulled the fuse and lost the backend in my 300 and almost ended up in someones living room.
