I Know Nothing About Tyres For The Is250

Recommended Posts

but I have searched this forum as I'm looking for replacments on an IS250 SE-L

I've done 26k and although I had a manual 2 years ago, I never replaced the tryes on that, instead buying my current car when the tyres were low - can't afford to do that this time!!!

So, the forum suggests that the TOYO PX T1-R's front and back (225/45R17 and 245/45R17) are the way to go and I can get what I think is a good deal, £425 all Fitted, BUT

WHY THE TOYO's - they appear to be great wet weather tyres, some might even say, specialised wet weather tyres, but it doesn't actually rain that much does it and well, if they are the best, is there something more concrete from any of you pro's?

thanks

I have the Toyo t1-R's on my is350 and they are excellent...even did a sprint session in the car in torrential rain with no real problems

good tyre IMHO

just bought some toyo888 track tyres from camskills you may want to check there prices as i was gobsmacked how cheap the 888's were

The choice of tyre depends partly upon personal preference. For example, do you value low noise and ride comfort more than handling? A couple of web sites which might help are: http://www.blackcircles.com/tyres and http://www.tirerack.com/

Although I guess if playing safe were more important, you might simply want to stick with tyres which Lexus fit as standard. I've got Dunlop on my IS250SEI although, because I found Michelin Pilot Primacy were much quieter than Dunlops on my previous car, when the time comes I will be tempted to opt for these again assuming they're available in the appropriate sizes.

Hey all,

I 'would' suggest Goodyear Eagle F1 Assymetrics, have them on my Accord Type S but they don't do the size for the rears on the IS250 (annoying as they are probably the best tyre I've ever used). Am after a quiet tyre yet good handling. My thoughts so far....

The P Zero seems to be tyre of the year (see below)

I would easily go with the Zero Rosso for the Ulimate performance without compromising the ride and comfort.

Cheers, H
