Map Light Bulb

alright guys,

bought my self a 02 lexus is200 on thrusday, and discovered that the map light is blown.

but what i cant seem to figure out is how to get the bulb out with out breaking anything, ive used the search tool for ages and cant find the result i want.

if some one could tell me, or link me to a pervious thread id be really greatful.

Just get your fingers under the edge of the case and pull it off. The whole surround has to come off to change the bulb not just the map light clear bit. make sure you get the right the bulb from lexus as well.

It took the parts guy two attempts to get the right bulb!

ahh right thanks, just give it a bit of a tug?

Thats if im putting in a standard plain yellow bulb though, if i get a white LED bulb of eBay or something, it should still work shouldnt it?

Yep you can replace it with LEDs, loads have done it. When you remove the surround, make sure not to press on the clear reflector part as that will snap it off.......

I think the map bulb (the light next to the sunroof controls) is a 501

I changed mine to a 9LED setup

You need a BA9S type bulb/led.
