Tein Super Street With Upper Mounts

Hi mate when I changed my suspension with aftermarket coilovers I was also interested for the Tein Super Street. The reviews I got was that there were briliant suspensions, well made but many stated that there was a clicking noise after each bump. So I went for the Ksport coilovers. They are very comfort. I have adjusted them and they are soft like the OEM and they have an excellent bound and rebound. But if you go for the Tein Superstreet I am sure that you will be satisfied, but I am not sure if they are so quiet and maybe comfortable as other aftermarket coilovers. Anyhow they are meant to be one of the top aftermarket coilovers. If you also get the extra EDFC controller you will be able to adjust the comfort of your car from the interior without opening the bonnet and the trunk.

Can't comment on the super streets, however i've had no issues with the type flex and knocking sounds (now known as mono flex i think). ride is bit stiffer than the factory stuff on the softest setting and hard as nails on the hardest settings.

I had the Tein Super Streets fitted on the Black Lexus IS few years ago, the ride was good but the knocking was present at all times, really annoying, Steve at Glossop tried all sorts to get rid of the noise, but no avail, i sold them and managed to get my hands on a new set HKS Hyper Damper II, they were brilliant.

Sold HKS Dampers to a LOC memeber before i sold the car, but guess what? just bought same set i sold from the same LOC Memebr (half the cost) he didn't use them, along with Black headlights.. :zee: :winky:

For the sake of accuracy: was it the TEIN SS kit with upper mounts or without?

as far as i can remember they had the upper mounts, the SS Kit comes with upper mounts, but the cheaper kit doesn't come with upper mounts.

Ive got the Tein Mono flex on my car, i have no upper mounts (lookin into purchasing them) and have been on the car for approx 1000miles?! I have had no issues with Knocking, whereas my Mk2 Golf had Koni's and had to get them sent away after a few thousand miles to be re-conditioned!

just installed type flex coil overs today.

i also ordered the pillow ball upper mounts, but i guess i ended up with the wrong ones.

when i tried to swap them, it seemed the springs were too wide.

so now i have some upper mounts for just a spring set i guess?

anyway, i am having the car aligned next week.

i will take it for a long drive afterward and let you know.

car drives real nice, we set the dampers real soft, and lifted it to the highest recommended setting (snow).

i can not wait to slam it and tighten up those dampers; hoping to do bushings and control arms first.

depends on how long i hold onto the car once i make it to England.
