IS 200 (2002) Standard Sound System

I'm waiting for delivery of my new IS200 Sport but have heard rumours that the sound system has changed from the one in my year 2000 IS 200 Se. I'm really happy with the sound quality of the old standard system but I've heard the new one is of poorer quality . Can anyone confirm this ?

I find the new system better, the old one used to be quite harsh and distort easily at even half volume, however the new system, is much softer and can handle bigger volumes and bass.

I'll admit I haven't heard an old system so cant compare, but I will say the system in my new (O2) IS200SE is awesome, and I can't imagine it could be much better. I've played it really loud and there's no distortion etc.

I have a 2002 IS 200 SE and must agree that the sound system is superb. Best i have ever had a standard in any car. I do have a query though. The dealer info says tha tthe SE & Sport model have eight speakers instead of six as found on the standard IS 200 - anyone know where the eight are?? i can only find six.

the 8 are ...........

well actually its a play on placement,there are the 2 in each door,tweeter and bass and the rear shealf is done the sama but the tweeter is in the middle of the bass speaker under one cover
