Hi Guys

just read the tutorial on changing dash bulbs.

I need to do mine as i cannot see my heater controls anymore :(

would like white or blue i think (white is my ideal)

can anyone point me to the right number and sizes of bulbs

just confused as to how many i need of what type?

i want to do, speedo cluster, key slot, heater controls

wont attempt the cd player yet! they can stay orange.

any help is appreciated

regards

Sean

the cd player would be hard as you will need to take the headunit apart. climate control is also fragile when it comes to changing lights. speedo should be fine. theres a walk through on the site use the search button mate. there is also other topics asking the same questions

I used the guide thats on here somewhere from the US site, this one

http://my.is/forums/f90/how-change-your-ma...ds-pics-359216/

I changed the bulbs that you are wanting to I got all mine from a UK supplier in white LED. I'll post details of what I used when I get home. Got the LED's from here http://www.ultimatemods.co.uk/

Right then this is what I used

For the dash bulbs

2x these ones http://www.ultimatemods.co.uk/501-led-bulbs-w5w.html (also can be used in the sidelights)

3x these ones http://www.ultimatemods.co.uk/286-led-bulb-3-led.html (when I fitted these I ahd to bend the LED a bit to get then to fit in the wholes, they work fine)

For the ignition ring

1x this one http://www.ultimatemods.co.uk/286-led-bulb.html

For the heater and clock bulbs

3x Heater Wedge Bulb 4mm

2x Heater Wedge Bulb 3mm (these needed a bit of filing to fit right but work fine, and I filed down the heads so they don;t give bright spots on the clock)

This type http://www.ultimatemods.co.uk/heater-and-a...trol-bulbs.html

No need for any soldering with those ones. The Rear demister/recirc/A/C lights will still light up orange with those bulbs. But thats what I wanted as you then know that they are on.

I've got white ones. The dash is fine but I would say that the heater controls are a bit dimmer than the standard orange ones, but looks good.

Can post some pics tomorrow night if you like?

here is mine in blue

SNC00146.jpg

i did not have the new t5 bulbs in when i took this photo. so thats why the fuel gauge is so dark.

Hi

Can you confirm that the dials and dash are still clear with the blue or white bulbs. The photos look as if they are not as bright as the original orange bulbs or is this just how the photo has come out?

Hopefully i'll be changing mine this weekend :)

Also is this guide ok for an IS300?

Does anyone have a guide for the Shifter bulbs on an automatic?

Thanks

heres mine in blue

Thanks Lexdavis

Looks good. I think im def going for the blue. Why people say it looks chavvy I dont know. It would be good to see some pictures of other colours (Other than white or blue)

Im going to try the cigarette lighter, heated seats, traction ctrl and gear shifter as well.

Does anyone have any advice for this (traction and heated seats)and also what bulb I need for the Hazard lights of the main centre console (I want to keep this the original colour - should I buy white? - Current ones dead and I would rather not open up the whole dash just to check the bulb :(

i still havent got round to doing this!

thinking of sticking with orange though.

is there anywhere i can get the stock colour orange 2x bulbs for the heater control area?

Ive heard people mention (dont quote me on this) that the bulbs are white but they have a orange cap on them so you should be able to purchase white ones and use the existing caps.

Hope this helps
