Ouch, sorry to hear about the manhole incident :(

But those carbon bits are looking niiiice. :winky: I've been trying to find some carbon engine bay covers for my IS200, but I can only find them for the IS300. I'm considering getting one of those laminating kits where you just cover an existing part in carbon cloth and then laquer it.

Get those bits buffed and fitted though, I wanna see them in sittue!

cheers locky!!!i'm just lucky i can do it all myself, the only thing i didn't do was paint the kit.i've done everything over a year and a half so now its nearly finished 99%(a car is never finished)i can now enjoy driving it and taking it to show's(a few weeks ago i came first in a show and shine)

as for power i've not got a clue, larger intercooler, induction kit(apexi filter),pr0lex manifold, full stainless exhaust and she only ever runs on vpower.

poss around 220 bhp poss more??to be honest i didn't get the charger coz it ups the power i got it coz i love the noise!!its amazing...

Just as a personal opinion, I think that the overall effect you have achieved looks worse than OEM - especially the about-to-fall-off number plate. But, and it is a BIG but; I admire the quality of your workmanship and all the effort you have put into making the car special, individual and to your own requirements plus having genuine performance enhancements - which is helluva a lot more important than pleasing me. A distinctive look is always going to polarise people to either love it or hate it and I am probably in the minority. I look forward to photos as you make it look even worse (to me) with the progress of your modifications and improvements :hehe:

Can you tell me how the rear lights noy differ from the standard ones? And where did you get the dials. Quite like themS.

The lights differ in that as standard, only the outer two lights work as sidelight and brakes (twin filament bulb) and the inner two are just foglights. But he has modified the foglights with a twin filament bulb, so as well as being foglights, they now come on with the sidelights, and also with the brakes.

And I would assume he got the dials from the forum, theres a thread in the group buy section for these. Although there isnt currently one running at the moment. Theres a few different styles available too.

I'll have a look.

Are the new dials hard to fit?

You thought about doing anything with the engine cover Mr Ormi? Because for about £50 you could get a carbon fibre laminating kit, cover it in carbon cloth, which you could wrap under the edges and remove the need to have the piping there. I think it would finish off the engine bay a treat. :) You could even get a standard engine bay 'L' badge to stick on afterwards.

well a little update no pics though was sick of the boot not popping up fully due to the weekened springs, it was a big discussion on OJC then patrik came up with the idea of spacers to retension the boot springs.

well done the mod today and thats the boot back to its former glory push the button up she pops all the way to the top!!

What did you do to the boot spring to make it pop up again. Mine is terrible now. Barely lifts it up from the rubbers.

Gareth

Simple fix, all you need is a 5mm bolt... You need to lever the metal spar a bit out of the boot arm (the bit that is connected to the bootlid) far enough to insert the bolt. The extra tension of the bolt acting as a spacer causes it to open much more fully. Mine was the same, only opening a few millimetres till it was done (by ormi  while fitting bodykit parts) B) B)
