2) '94 Vauxhall Corsa (1.4l) - Don't laugh at the bodykit, it was on when I bought it and never got round to fitting the GSi kit I bought for it.

1971 Datsun 100A (with flakey brakes)

1989 Ford Escort Ghia

HaHa.... Love this thread and just had to contribute. I too have owned some shockers!

1997 :- MG Metro 1300 Turbo 1990 model

1999 :- Nissan Sunny 1.6 1990 model (piece of utter rubbish)

2000 :- Nissan Primera 2.0 EGTE 1996 model. Brilliant car, quick for a 4 door saloon, 18 inch rims and a real head turner! Never once went wrong! Wrote it off tho into a brick wall!

2005 :- Nissan Maxima 3.0 V6 1996 model. Super luxurious, this is where I got a taste for comfort and refinement! Lots and lots of toys to play with!

2008 :- Honda Accord 2.0. 2006 model. Excellent car. Only reason to change it was I really wanted a Lexus!! But I still have this car!

2010 :- 2001 Lexus IS200 SE. Bought for £1000 as it had 147k on the clock and failed on pretty much everything on the MOT (brakes, suspension and emissions plus the engine light was on and it had 20+ fault codes stored). Also had a few heavy dents and scratches. Was in a right state. Made it into my project car to do up and sell. My wife loved it tho so when I finished and got it back on the road she sold her car (99 Fiat Punto) and kept the Lex.

2012 :- 2001 Lexus IS200 Sport TTE Kitted! I love this car and bought it as soon as I saw it even tho I was looking at a lot newer IS 250 models with lower mileage but saw this and it was love at first sight!! Lol... I promised my wife I'd sell the Honda but now I'm keeping the Lexus in the garage and using the Honda for my everyday car! When she finds out I'm a dead man!

Relatively short list compared to many others on here but here goes!

1. 2001 Peugeot 307 1.6 LX - owned for 13 months...bought from auction and after a bit of tlc served me very well, engine was solid and was a very good runner but the rest of the car was where the rattles and unpredictable things came from!

2. 2001 Lexus IS200SE - owned for 8 months, my first Lex and was won over by how lovely it was to drive, had a minor shunt on the A1 though and found out it'd had dodgy repairs done by previous owner, hence was a write off :(

3. 2005 Vauxhall Astra 1.7 CDTI - owned for only 5 months...6 years old and 50k on the clock when I bought this car expecting it to be a solid workhorse but what a pain in the pocket! Oil leaks one after another and suspected head gasket which I know a few others who have shared my woes with similar age/mileage Vauxhalls...lost my faith in the brand after this experience!

4. 2004 Lexus IS200SE - currently owned 6 weeks and counting, best of the bunch by a very long shot! Picked up from auction so got myself a bargain low miler with full history warranted mileage and only one owner, mechanically sound only gripe is wheel refurb is required. However all in all one happy Lex owner here :)

My first ever car was a 1985 Mazda RX-7 FB, bought the week after I passed my driving test! Insurance was only a few hundred quid more than a 1.2 Subaru Justy, so the car of my dreams just about won that...I had that for a couple of years, then it blew some rotor tips. Whilst it was being repaired, I had a 1.6 Nissan Primera for a few months, which I hated.

Got my RX-7 back with a new engine, a fuel injected, turbo charged Japanese exclusive, there were only a handful of them in the country when I had mine. Outrageously quick, used to smoke brand new Porsches.

My Mazda love affair ended when I tried to support a local business by having my MOT done there. The MOT cost twice what they quoted, backed up with "by the way, it doesn't start now." I specifically asked them to not touch the fuel computer in the passenger footwell and found a huge dirty footprint on it.

Reluctantly got rid of the 7 and bought a Nissan S14 Silvia. Spent lots on modifying it, but it didn't really do anything for me. Then I needed a more economical car for work and got a 1.4 Honda Civic, which was a fantastic little car, getting me to Germany in -20c conditions, with the roads covered in snow.

Sadly scrapped that about a week ago, as I needed a bigger car due to recently becoming a parent and that was my IS300 SportCross, which I love. The end.

Passed my test in January 1979....the only decent day in a very cold and frosty month as I remember:

The day after I drove my father's Sept 78 MGB GT (Russet Brown with orange stripey seats), not strictly on topic.

Car list as follows:

1973 Mini 850 Automatic......ran beautifully a very rare beast in Blue

1976 Mini 1000 Manual a right dog of a car in Black

1975 Austin Allegro Estate in Red..the most unreliable car I ever owned.

1982 Ford Fiesta 950 Popular in Red nice car nasty gearbox

1984 Ford Fiesta 1.1 Pop Plus in Paris Blue. I loved this car and through a tunnel the exhaust made a lovely sound.

1981 Ford Escort XR3 (not the i) in Red. Needed loads of work but easy to work on and very enjoyable.

1986 Ford Escort 1.3 Estate in Red. Family commitments, a dreary car indeed.

1986 Ford Fiesta XR2 in Nimbus Grey a great car to drive, a bit raw but quick enough for its time.

1989 Ford Escort 1.6 in Burgundy, the first car I crashed (not my fault), a boring box

1992 Rover 216 SLi saloon (the one with the Honda engine), in Red. Very nice car drove thousands of miles with no trouble

1996 Ford Fiesta 1.1 in Burgundy bought from new. No comment, wifes choice not happy.

1995 Rover 420D SLi in Blue, my first diesel and a great car.....yes really

This was followed by two company owned cars

1998 Ford Focus TDi Ghia Estate, in Blue, my second diesel and a great handling car, carry anything go anywhere

2004 Ford Focus Zetec TDi Estate, in Silver. used it like a van very heavy on front tyres.

I then started buying again

2006 BMW 120D SE in Sydney Blue. Powerful diesel, great handling car, converted me to rear wheel drive for ever.

2009 Mercedes C250CDi Sport in Grey, my second new car. 50000 miles 2 complete breakdowns (under warranty) but a very quick car......missed a little

2009 Lexus 220D SE-i in Cadoxton Slate.....still too early to give a verdict but comfortable and quiet.

In addition I have had the pleasure to own (as second cars), and the word pleasure is used tongue in cheek for some:

1998 Ford Fiesta 1.25 in Burgundy, great little car

2002 Renault Clio 1.2 16V Dynamique in Silver......11000 miles in 4 years my wife loved it and still mentions it fondly

2001 Audi TT 225 in Olive Green very low mileage car and I loved it. My wife hated the 18MPG and after 8 weeks it was sold.

2004 Mini One Convertible in Blue with Leather, Sat Nav etc etc. Actually a very good car for those rare sunny days.

2006 Mini Cooper (Later Model) in Blue with all the trimmings. Ride was awful but on a smooth road it was fun.

1998 BMW Z3 2.8 Auto. Low mileage example and a lovely straight six engine....still on the fleet.

I don't think I've missed any, and I'm sure there will be many more.

Here you go....... :)

The Interceptor was briefly re-introduced in the late 1980s as the Series 4 (S4), as a low-volume bespoke motor car marketed in a similar way to Bristol. Though the body remained essentially the same as the last of the main production run of series 3; the engine was a much smaller Chrysler supplied 360 cubic inch (5.9 litre) which used more modern controls to reduce emissions comparatively and still produce about 230 hp. In addition, the interior slightly re-designed with the addition of modern "sports" front seats as opposed to the armchair style of the earlier models.
