Hi chaps, the rear trailing arm bush as shown in the pic is worn on my 1996 (mk3) ls400, does anyone know where I can buy one from? I can find bushings for the mk1/2 but cant find the mk3 bushings... unless anyone in the know can tell me that the earlier bushings will fit

the bush in the hub is fine, its just the bush at the chassis end, where the metal insert has seized to the bollt and caused the rubber bush to tear

Regards

Try ACLex on here maybe !

Malc

Also check the USA owners club, look for 'bushings' USA name

Try 'Superflex' and 'Polybush'

If you are feeling brave it might be worth finding out the dimensions of the late and early bushes ;)

You never know what crosses over until you try!

From here:

http://www.lexls.com/tutorials/suspension/rcabushings.html

it shows the bushings are marked from 90-99

so found the same bushings on sale here:

http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/5056-LS400-Rear-Trailing-Arm-Bushing-89-00-/180706385202?pt=Motors_Car_Truck_Parts_Accessories&hash=item2a12f09d32

which indicates the mk1/2/3/4 bushing is the same, might buy these, unless anyone knows who sells similar in the uk?

Hi Dale V

This issue was covered recently by myself and another Member in the LS400 general discussion section under "strut rods and bushes" I fitted the bushings to the lower arm and the trailing arm hubside on my Mark 1 and they are perfect replacements with no hassles, unfortunatly the other member had issues because the rear suspension was changed on the Models produced after 94.

I cannot comment further on the issues as I did not have them ,but I think if you read the post and check out the workshop tip that accompanies the post it might help you to make a decision.

Hi Dale,

Not checked the Owners Club for a while. I'm the other member that Ambermarine mentions. I had a go at replacing the same bushing as you with an Adus one. Was assured it was the right one but I didn;t find it so! How did you get on?
