Gs300 Mk Ii Doesn`t Start Problem

After turning the key on the engine doesn't start and behaves just as if you want to start it on 1,2 or 3 gear drive instead of P or N - all the controls light properly then they dim a bit and that is all. There is no clicking of the starter so probably no power impulse there. The strange thing is that after 10 meters of houling it starts normally. The starter has been maintainded recently, disassembled, smeared, inspected and mounted so should be fine.

I would guess that something is amiss with either the way the starter was re-assembled or in the way it was re-fitted.

If the lights dim, then as Dave says, it would tend to suggest a problem with the starter still (as power is being drawn).
