Rust On Rear Brake Disc

Spotted this today - small line of rust on the rear brake disc on an area that is in contact with the pads. The pads were replaced in the summer.

Any ideas why the pad is not clearing this area and leaving the 'shiny rust' area you can see above and below the clean area of the disc. What can be done to fix this?

Many thanks for your help.

Check your calipers. It could be that your pads aren't sliding in the caliper causing this strange pattern.

When i first got my car i had pitted rear discs and discovered the rear brakes the pads were stuck solid in the caliper. I had to lever the pads out and chisel all the rust out to get the brakes working well again.
