Has anyone had problems with the In and Out movement of the steering wheel (Mk 4). Up and down works fine although the memory function does not work correctly, moves a little but not enough. Any Ideas ?

Try searching you tube, there was a link posted here a while back that had a you tube link to a video showing a repair.

I can't remember though whether it was up/down or in/out that had failed.

He has a grinding sound when operating. Video is here.

I have seen that video before, the problem I have is the in & Out movement not the up and down movement. There is no motor sound when I try to move the wheel in&out. Someone must have had this problem before and found a fix ? thanks guys

I have the same problem , and to date have not found a fix.
But i believe if hour looking to replace the motor the landcruiser are the same but  alot cheaper, if you do find a fix let use know.
