There's a mountain of stuff on this subject ........ HOWEVER, assuming you have a standard LS400 and the original Dunlops aren't available any more ( extremely unlikely I understand ) then FALKENS are possibly the way forward . about £100 a corner.

I'm due to have new tyres and will put these on at the time.

They are limited in availability with very few dealers.

Hope this helps.

I have Kumho also, quiet, much better than previous budget tyres, but not been on long enough to judge properly

I was going for Falken, but the supplier [who had both at a similar price]

recommended these.

£90 odd a corner fitted,balanced, new valves.

I also have Conti PC2s on my '94. No concerns re. performance and safety, but in this size they do seem to ring slightly compared to the D8s (it wasn't an issue with PC2s on my Series1 with 15" rims). The man from Conti actually paid me a visit but of course would not admit to there being a problem. A few years ago, Which? said don't buy the Falkens due to their (relatively) poor grip.

Ask your local tyre place to check if the Orignal Dunlop D8Z's are stll in stock somewhere....they were developed specfically to be quiet for the 400 I believe.....the dealers are all linked by computer now....they will find them for you if you are gonna spend 400 quid ish ....I found 3 sets over 6 years of ownership. :geek:
