2000 Gs430 No Interior Light, Central Locking Plip Stopped Working

Recommended Posts

Help please from the gurus!

I have read that the interior light is somehow also connected to the central locking plip? The car still locks on the key, the light flashes on the plip - but nothing happens.

I have heard on the forum that they share a common fuse - but cannot find which one it is - is ths correct or a Red herring?

Car is one of the first GS 430 -0ct 2000

Also- how often does the rear differential and gearbox need servicing?

Thanks, allan

transmission fluid is meant to last a lifetime, personally I would at least do a pan drain and refill every 100k miles. Or a full flush if the fluid isn't still nice and bright red at any point. Only use Toyota T-IV fluid.

Not sure about the diff oil. It should be stated in the service book, probably something around every 60k miles.

Not sure if it is standard across the Lexus range but the DOME fuse normally powers the interior lighting, if you remove the fuse cover the function of each fuse is normally marked on the inside of the cover.
