Lexus Is220D Egr Blocking? How To Prevent?

I had recently some problems with famous EGR valve... ;(

While reading the forum I found a couple of threads ref the EGR and I decided to check what is under my bonnet (very similar symptoms)... and what I expected 'the layer of carbon dust' looked like coal mine !!!EGR completely black and block by that filth. I don't suspect previous owner looked up to clean the valve before...

Can any of the forum members give me some advice how to prevent that..if that is possible...

Thanks bluenose1940 for pointing me into the right direction (I must missed that one ;))

I was just wondering is any way to remove valve from the system or bypass it ?
