Air Filter Box Removal

Recommended Posts

You need a 10 mm socket and extension bar 1/4" drive is idea.

Remove two bolts just in front of rad on the air inlet tract also one on the small extension box to the intake. The inlet tract will then come away from the main Air filter assembly, it is connected to the main box by indented plastic clips just squeeze the tract carefully to ease out .

The main air cleaner box is held on with 3 bolts, 2 on the right side 1 front side of the throttle body and one behind the throttle body, these are quite deep down about 100 mm below the top of the box.

On the left side is one bolt quite obvious. The main air box can now be removed but careful as you need to wriggle of the throttle body then un-clip the breather pipe before lifting to high.

Under this is the plastic cylinder head cover this is held with 4 bolts, again careful as these can become brittle with age.
