Questions For Ls430 Owners With Reverse Camera

Recommended Posts

Guys i have a couple of questions with regards to the sat nav screen

1st is there anyeasier way of disbaling the "i agree" screen every time we start up - i know and have read about the vaistech method - but dont really want to go down that route

2nd question relates to the map screen.

99% of the time the screen i use is the climate control screen but everytime i reverse (the reverse camera comes on) and then the screen goes back the map screen - i then have to press the climate button to get the climate screen back on - the same happens if the front parking sensors are indicated for example if you are waiting in traffic and and somebody corss the road infront of the car the parking sensor will activate - then the screen goes back to the Map screen!!!!!

So you get the idea here every journey i have to press "i agree" and climate several times - im finding this annoying

any help appreciated

Thank You

Eh.

For the screen, there is an option in the options area to have it NOT revert to map.

How come your parking sensors come up on the sat nav screen? Mine don't, mine comes up on the instrument cluster at the bottom.

So I am guessing you can turn that off aswell.

Don't know about I agree, I've gotten used to pressing it haha.

Reverting back to map - as Ipwin says, there is an option for that.

There is also an option for parking sensors on screen or off within the software. (Always comes up on the instrument cluster as well)

I believe the latest version of the software cuts the disclaimer after a few seconds so you don't need to press agree. I've not personally tried it though but hope to update this year.

You know what - mine does the same!

I've just gone out to try it (freezing!) any other screen and it doesn't go back to the map. Reverse camera and it does. I never noticed that as I have it switched TO go back to the map, I only changed it to test for you.

Bit of a software issue there - the writers obviously didn't take into account the previous screen mode when reversing. I wonder if newer software does it? It would definately be worth it to upgrade then as the nag screen automatically clears.

Guess its open again to anyone with newer software..... Mine is 2006.

Hi Mark

I have been searching the forums for any ideas as to replacing my now defunct reversing camera...it packed up about three months ago and came across this topic...

Did you get a definite answer to this question? If not here's how to disable the I agree screen

Press Option then information then select the park assist button then activate display off by pressing it...it should be highlighted.

This worked on my LS 430 also 04 plate.

Also how to turn off the screen display

Press Options , Information, select the Display button and select Screen Off at top right hand side of the screen.

After this , if you have the Audio on you can turn the screen on by pressing the Audio button and off by pressing it again. The same procedures works for Climate....

Unfortunately the screen display comes on after every time you use the Sat Nav...so you have to go through the above procedure again.

Hope that helps and apologies if this is redundant post.

I'll have to try that on my 51 reg GS300. I think the same way as cruisermark, having to press 'agree' every time I start up, but my S/N stays on as if its the default setting even if I press other options. I would like mine to show the Audio all the time. I'll try the above suggestions when it stops snowing and the frost goes away.

thanks for the post - I will try it later when i get to the car

With regards to the camera i would be inclined to take it out and see if the camera only is replaceable and wether someone sell one which will fit .

second option is look for a used one - might be difficult in the UK but in USA there are some for sale albiet a bit pricey

hope this helps

Jim

If your Sat Nav screen stays on all the time you could try the following it works on LS but not sure re GS300

Press Option

then information

then screen setting

then set " Automatic transition from Audio to Navigation" to OFF

HOPE IT WORKS FOR YOU

Oh one more thing...you are not going to like this Mark....every time you turn off the ignition, the car settings revert to the factory default!...so you have to do this each time you start the car as part of your buckling up....Sorry I should have mentioned that in my last post!

I think the reason is that the Lexus LS was designed for the American market and Toyota were terrified of being sued for millions if someone got into an accident unless they agreed to that statement which is logged into the ecu each time.

I had a little play about with it following the above suggestions before it got dark and now the audio screen stays on. I'll see if I've got to 'I agree' tomorrow. I'll also do the above and see what happens.

Followed the above info and now when the Lexus Logo comes on with the ignition, press the Audio or Climate before the 'I Agree' appears, whichever is your preferred screen, and it stays on.
