My Lex loves her Christmas present!

The unit works a treat, I connect my Iphone to a small cable in the armrest and hey presto all my songs can be played on the wonderful sound system. It plays the playlists as CD's and the steering controls work too!

Nige, did you do the install yourself? Where does the box go? Do you have anymore pictures of the kit in place? Very interested in this bit of kit

Remove sat nav, wire through to glove box. That's the easiest way. Or wire to the armrest.

The Lexus dealer here installed it for me, made easier as they had the central section out anyway as they were fixing my sport gearbox setting, the sensor needed replacing. if it was being installed on its own it the dealer quoted 2 or 3 hours work.

Sam is right ,it is installed just behind the CD changer below the sat nav screen with a wire through to the central armrest, a small hole cut just below the power outlet at the front of the compartment to feed the cable through. The device isn't that big, about the size of two packs of cigarettes side by side and a little slimmer. It also comes with two special cables with plugged connectors that I assume have been made to plug into spare sockets.

It's really impressive, the sound is excellent.

I live in Northampton, United Kingdom and I have purchased a 2003 '53' Lexus LS430 - this is the facelift version with the 6 speed auto gearbox and other modifications such as the Bluetooth.

I'm looking for an iPod / MP3 player solution which will work with the factory fitted audio, speakers and existing controls in the car (including the steering wheel). I don't plan to use the CD changer again however it would be nice to retain this as occasionally I do carry passengers who still use CDs.

I would also like to be able to play DVDs via the existing screen too.

Can anyone suggest any ideas on products and installers ? Is this something which could be done by a Lexus dealer ?
