I drove my 1995 ls400 into a flooded forde just before Christmas, took the spark plugs out and turned the engine and got the car going again, only problem now is that when the car is idling it jumps the revs, even when I'm driving the car would rev itself up and down, already tried a new air flow meter but no use, can anyone suggest anything else I could try? Thanks

Other things to check are the IACV at the front of the engine and the TPS.

For the TPS use a voltmeter on the output connection and see if it varies when the idle speed plays up.

If you removed the spark plugs recheck all the pipework you removed when doing them especially the vacuum pipes and crankcase ventilation pipes to the throttle body and that all the fixing clips are secure.

This same thing has happened to my friends car, we found that if was the 'cause of the VVTi actuator not functioning good when engine is warm. So if your engine has a VVTi system I would suggest to check that in the first place.

Note: diagnose will show VVTi system malfunctioning!
