Any Buttons And Switches You Didn't Know About?

Being at a loose end for an hour or so I thought I'd ask if any of you have discovered a button or switch you didn't know you had. Also how long before you found it!

I've had my present car for 5 months and only just discovered I can change the sat nav to a night colour. I did it at first by accident and thought that something was wrong as the screen suddenly went blue and the dash lights dimmed!

I didn't know the 99 reg 400 had a cut out switch. Running over a dead badger, a nasty knock to the underside of the car, and the engine cut out. There is a reset switch located in the right hand side of the boot behind one of the flaps. Luckily for me the mechanic who looked at the car had come across this before or we might still be there. Never heard of this before, or since, on these forums.

i have posted somewhere here about a random button i found.

i had a 07 220se with a random button that i cant find any explanation for. just above the footrest in the drivers footwell is a small button. i pressed it a few times but nothing noticable happens.

i know have a 59 220se-l and the same button is there, still nothing happens (that i can see)

anyone know what it is ?

p.s my fav button is the wiper warmers

wiper warm is in the row of 3 buttons on the right of the steering wheel. little picture looks like a windscreen with a line on it. takes a few mins to warm up but careful if you gunna touch em they get hot

and the button i dont know what it does is on the bulkhead above the footrest not on the dash or the plastics

Never used the wiper warm but I love the way the rear sun shield glides up & down.

I wonder if this switch near the pedals is only on the SEL & nav models?

Will check mine tomorrow and if no one works it out I'll try and remember to ask while in the dealers on Friday.

Had a look today the only switch I can see near the footrest is on a metal bracket behind the clutch which presumably makes or brakes a curcuit when the clutch is engaged.

Or are you talking about a different switch?

Don't think this button is on the 250. Its not on mine.

Had it on my 220d and jolly effective it was too.

Not all bad news on the 250. Hit that screen button in the middle of the centre console on a frosty day and the screen clears in no time at all. Found it worked very well this winter whilst scraping the missus' Mx5 off.
