Vsc, Vsc Off, Brake Warning, Abs Warning Light

Weird fault - all four warning lights came on last night when I popped out on an errand - all four were still on this morning. Remembered to check the filler cap - no whoosh, so the tank wasn't pressurised. Dried the filler cap seal off, did it up and left it.

Went out at midday to go to the gym and started up - blow me but they'd all gone off!

So I'm looking at OBD readers and think this fits the bill - anyone else used one of these http://www.obdpros.com/product_info.php?products_id=133?

You would be better off with one of these, gives fault code and description and a host of other functions too.

It doesn't reset the VSC lights still need to do that manually, but it does give a description of the fault

Its far too expensive.

I just bought an ELM Easy OBD11 on amazon for £14 it fits in the socket and you can leave it there. Communicates to my Android phone by Bluetooth. The App is a called Torque and its free. You can get a full version but you dont really need it unless your fixing lots of cars.

Gives fault codes and descriptions on screen.

Can be used to give indications of acceleration an turbo boost pressures (active) if you have a turbo. Lost of other features too.

It will cancel the Engine Warning Light (ECL) even when its running. There are lots of varieties. Mine came from Hong kong in 5 days !!
