Engine and transmission are reliable. Suspension, brakes etc all subject to normal wear and tear.

I've had a 430 sport since 2005 and follow the service schedule with a Lexus dealer, only two problems I've had with it are the electric door mirror failing on the driver's side and on the cosmetic front the driver's seat piping on the bottom of the seat splitting in two. But considering how complex the car is that's really good - for comparison, a friend of mine bought a 2004 Audi A6 V8 in 2006 and it spends more time in the garage then it does on the road. I call it the bionic car as he could have bought a new one for what he's had to spend on it!

Strange I had the same problems, the auto dimming failed on the mirror also the pipping splits but it has done 170k plus.

Had my late 2002 GS430 for 5+ years. Had done 46k and now done 66k. Only issues were headlamp washer relay/motor done under warranty and just going in on Thursday for O2 sensor and possibly front discs/pads.. Even though I no longer do high miles it is always serviced annually which is important for any car, irrespective of make. When I was covering higher mileage my cars might be serviced 3 times annually. Most cars are fairly reliable if looked after properly.

Interestingly just had mine done for an O2 sensor at 49k miles, seems to be between 46k and 66k the sensor goes? Still as I said in the earlier post compared to other cars you can't really complain after 10 years!

I'd say ultra reliable, mines on 156,000 miles and I've owned about 3 years and my piping split same place and had to replace the idler pulley for the drive belt, everything else is great and working great. I trust it 100% to get me there and back every time...
